Transfer coating begins by coating a specially prepared release paper, this can either be flat with various gloss levels or grained with a variety of finishes such as leather-like, reptile and fabric effect.

We can transfer coat using a variety of chemicals including PVC, solvent or water based polyurethane and high-solids polyurethane. Some of these can also be applied as foam. We usually laminate these coatings onto woven, knitted, non-woven or foam substrates or fabrics. These coatings can also be unsupported with no fabric. We can coat cotton, polycotton, polyester, nylon and wool yarns as well as technical yarns such as Kevlar or Nomex.
These coating papers, chemicals, fabrics and processes can be combined in an infinite number of ways to produce an unbeatable range of bespoke products and processes for our customers.

Lacquers can be applied by gravure to enhance the feel and handle of the surface with gloss, matt, dry, waxy and slippery coatings.

A full range of prints can also be applied to give decorative surface effects such as reptile print, leather-like or fabric effect. More complicated, multi-coloured prints can be applied by transfer printing and a protective top coat can be applied before finishing. A full range of different grains can also be added by post embossing.
In this process the fabric is passed through the machine and the coating is applied directly to it. This process is only available on stable fabrics which do not stretch, shrink or distort under heat and tension.

Water and soil repellent finishes can be applied during the direct coating process and when PVC coating is used fabrics can be lacquered, printed and embossed. Due to ongoing investment in cutting-edge technology, we are able to coat both sides of the fabric in one pass by flipping the fabric over half way down the machine. This enables us to turn orders around faster and deliver a quick and efficient service unmatched in the UK.
